Why Parish Volunteers are Important and Needed

Romans 12: 4-12 “For as in one body we have many parts, and all the parts do not have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ and individually parts of one another. Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given us, let us exercise them.
Every one of us has been given a gift from God that is to be used for the benefit of the community and that gift is a challenge to faithful use.

The giving of time and talent to our church community is a way for us to grow and prosper by exercising our Christian freedom for the responsibility of others. It is also a way for those in our community to form a connection and a sense of belonging through their contributions for the welfare of the parish.

Your time and talent is also a ministry whether it be liturgical, housekeeping, maintenance, catechetical or sacristan you are contributing to the needs of the parish community. By volunteering of your time and talents you are answering the call of God by using the gifts that have been given At the same time you are developing the relationship with God through your individual ministry.
